Welcome to Jessie's little corner of the web.
This website is a jumbled collection of things I enjoy, and an excuse for me to play with colors.
I hope you find something that interests you here.

Hello! My name is Jessica, though most people call me Jessie.
Welcome to my loud, beautiful, gaudy, personal website!

I originally made this web page as an assignment for a computer class at MATC in 1995. After making the first and much clumsier version of this page (in Netscape Composer), I realized that I enjoyed Web Design and programming languages immensely.

Even though over 15 years have passed, and I am now a professional web designer who no longer has to use WYSIWYG software, I have chosen to leave this website alone - it is just as gaudy and simple as it was when the graphical part of the internet was brand new. I've designed or worked on over 600 websites, but this was the one that actually inspired me to make a career out of web design, so no matter how ugly, it has a special place in my heart, even though I hope nobody I know ever sees it. ;)

The purpose of this web page is just to put a few of my jumbled thoughs down for posterity, to occasionally bitch about things that annoy me, and in general, to give me a place to think out loud. There are probably only about 5 people who know me in "real life" who have been given the link to this site. Sometimes, I just want to say what I want to say, and to hell with pleasing everyone else or putting on a facade in order to seem perfectly perfect all the time. Do you ever get that feeling?

So, gentle readers, feel free to look around, read up on what I've been doing, and in general, waste your time here. And before you leave, don't forget to sign the Guestbook and let me know you stopped by! Thanks for spending a little of your valuable time with me. I hope it wasn't a total waste :)

Jessie's Favorite (randomized) Quotes
The following is my favorite excerpt from The Principia Discordia

One day Mal-2 asked the messenger spirit Saint Gulik to approach the Goddess and request Her presence for some desperate advice. Shortly afterwards the radio came on by itself, and an ethereal female Voice said YES?

"O! Eris! Blessed Mother of Man! Queen of Chaos! Daughter of Discord! Concubine of Confusion! O! Exquisite Lady, I beseech You to lift a heavy burden from my heart!"

WHAT BOTHERS YOU, MAL? YOU DON'T SOUND WELL.

"I am filled with fear and tormented with terrible visions of pain. Everywhere people are hurting one another, the planet is rampant with injustices, whole societies plunder groups of their own people, mothers imprison sons, children perish while brothers war. O, woe."

WHAT IS THE MATTER WITH THAT, IF IT IS WHAT YOU WANT TO DO?

"But nobody wants it! Everybody hates it."

OH. WELL, THEN STOP.

At which moment She turned herself into an aspirin commercial and left The Polyfather stranded alone with his species.

A brief note to Margaret Atwood fans:

I've received emails from some confused fellow Margaret Atwood fans, asking if I knew that she used my domain name in her book Oryx and Crake. So I thought that I'd write a blurb here for clarity's sake.

Margaret Atwood published Oryx and Crake in May 2003. I registered BrainFrizz.com in 2004 and moved my existing site here. If you were looking for live executions, or something really cool from Margaret Atwood, then you're probably pretty darn disappointed to see my gaudy little website. Sorry about that. :)

Oryx and Crake is one of my favorite books in the world, and I've read it at least 18 times. I had to buy a second copy because I wore mine out. In the book, Atwood references several fictitous domain names. I was re-reading the book one day, and it occurred to me that if it wasn't already taken, this would be a great and fitting domain name to grab for my personal website.

If you have no idea what I'm referring to, but you're an intelligent person who enjoys a good "end of the world" type book, then I strongly suggest you pick yourself up a copy of Oryx and Crake by Margaret Atwood, and plan on not being able to put it down for several days straight.
